About the event
This event is presented by the Bay School and filmmaker Zulilah Merry. The documentary film screening will be followed by a panel discussion about postpartum care in the community - with midwife Holly Arends Murphy, mother Elise and filmmaker Zulilah Merry.
Regular ticket price is $15. If you would like to make an additional donation to support Zulilah in her efforts to get this film seen across the globe this is very much appreciated.
NO ONE TOLD ME provides a raw and honest look at the postpartum period, a unique time in a woman's life that is rarely captured in documentary film. The purely observational footage of incredibly intimate moments shows the highs and lows encountered by parents Elise and Marc as they adapt to life with a baby. Focusing on the new mother, the film shares the physical, hormonal and psychological changes she faces during the first 10 weeks of motherhood.
